Workshops    Gouache workshop at Sydney Harbour

02.04.19 to 02.04.19

This plein air gouache workshop will be held on Tuesday 2 April 2019 at Sydney Harbour.

We will paint under shady trees, on a lawned area, close to Mrs Macquarie's Chair, which is a short walk down towards the Harbour from the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

This will be my first plein air workshop using gouache. I use gouache often, either in conjunction with watercolour and mixed media, or on its own. The open spaces of water and sky, and the life and beauty of the Harbour, present an ideal subject.

Why a Tuesday?  - that is because the day before I am flying up to Sydney to enter small paintings into the Archibald and Wynne prizes, and there is no option to deliver the work on a weekend. I haven't previously shown in either of these prizes. But I have 3 times exhibited in the NSW Plein air Painting Prize at the NSW Parliament.

The workshop will run for 4 hours.  During last September I ran two painting workshops in Sydney - at the artist retreat of Eramboo, in Northern Beaches, and at the studio of the Lane Cove Art Society. For this workshop I am likely to have a small group, and the upper limit is 6 participants.

The cost is $115 (all materials provided).

Bookings and enquiries: in the initial intstance email me your booking to  Or ring Mark on 0434214356. Once I have confirmed the workshop I will send you prepayment and meet up details.
