Workshops and Classes    Watercolour painting in Fiji

04.08.18 to 10.08.18

Class has been CONFIRMED

It’s August – a cold, grey Melbourne winter – and if you would rather be out and about painting plein-air in Fiji, this is for you!

Go to and scroll down to art classes and the watercolour course I am conducting. Here you will find a full description of what’s on offer.

You arrive on the island of Savusavu, a 50 minute plane trip from Nadi international airport, on 4 August. Accommodation is at Daku Resort in Savusavu on Fiji’s northern island of Vanua Levu. The accommodation is in traditional bure-style cottages with beautiful views of Savusavu Bay,

I conduct morning 3 hour classes over 6 days from 5 – 10 August 2018. You leave on 11 August. We will paint in shady spots easily accessible from the resort: the gardens in the resort, a nearby beach, and the harbour at Savusavu (and a still life on a tropical theme may be incorporated into the program). The brochure notes:

Mark will demonstrate each step to the group and give everyone individual help and attention. He will show you how to make use of a variety of techniques — wet in wet and wet on dry — to complete paintings that are intimately observed and have a feeling of directness and vibrancy.

The classes are suitable for all levels of experience.  A materials list is provided. Extras and excursions (visiting a waterfall, a village, a beach picnic) are offered.

Booking and prices:  AUD$2300 single room.  AUD$1950 twin share.  AUD$1075 non-painting partners sharing your room. Price includes tuition fees, accommodation, meals and excursions. For enquiries or to make a booking: Tel: (02) 8094 1613, Email:
